The predator-prey relationship usually oscillates and it is evident that those two keep the population down and keeps the system like a checks and balance system of our government. An example of a predator-prey relationship is the lynx and the snowshoe hare. When the population of the snowshoe hare is small, the population of the lynx becomes smaller, which causes the population of the snowshoe hare to become larger, which then in turn causes the lynx population to become larger, and so on. They directly effect each others population. Another example of this is the predator-prey relationship of wolves and moose. These animals have the same effect on each other as the snowshoe hare and the lynx. The factors that may effect this prey-predator relationship are density dependent and density independent limiting factors. It is a combination of near- exponential growth and more competitive logistic growth.
